014 Dance Commemorates The Extraordinary Sacrifice Of A Generation
The annual Regent Theatre Dance Festival is back and 014 Dance promises to be one of a kind.
Since 2001, The Regent Theatre had been celebrating dance, offering a fantastic stage for the talent from across the region
This year’s event, titled Lest We Forget, will be a celebration, reflection and remembrance of those who fought for our freedom during the Great War, and honouring those who have given their lives in more recent conflicts. The event is dedicated to the memory of those who have been involved in conflicts past and present, particularly those of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
The event runs from Wednesday 12 February to Saturday 15 February and will honour the courage and dedications of regiments across the area and the UK.
This year the event will see 40 dance companies and 1200 dancers join forces for will see an amazing array of styles, from Irish to street, from tap to performance dance, all on stage at The Regent Theatre.
Festival Coordinator and Creative Learning Manager, Ian Moore, said:
“We are very proud of the event. This tribute, being the first time in the region, will also be in keeping with the memorial events taking place in the months to come for the 100th anniversary since the start of World War One.”
