When you have stars like Russell Watson, Faye Brookes and Djalenga Scott in the same show you expect a top night out. Well it may be described as the sexiest musical but the Razzle Dazzle was  so exceptional that the audience on opening night was singing away throughout.

The script moves swiftly along, the choreography, the sexy costumes and the music held the audience attention from minute one. The plot twists were expertly delivered by all. Scott as Velma Kelly and Brookes as Roxie Hart stole the show with great acting and wonderful vocals.

Matron Morton played by Sheila Ferguson is a large personality in a black trouser suit. Power dressing at its finest and appreciation from the audience.

Watson was a fine Billy Flynn and as expected, his vocals were spot on. The orchestra playing as though they were partying and providing a Jazz type sound. The whole production was effortlessly performed and if you don’t leave the Regent Theatre in a breathless fashion I will be amazed. Legs that effortlessly go beyond normal boundaries plus timeless songs and one liners which can”t fail to make you laugh out loud.

Funny and sultry many years after it began in 1996
