Staffordshire-based voluntary adoption agency Adoption Focus (http://www.adoption-focus.org.uk/) will be hosting an information drop-in day on Wednesday 4th June between 5-8pm at their base in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
It is hoped the drop-in day will provide information as well as inspiration for people to come forward and consider adopting one of the 105 children in Staffordshire waiting for adoptive families* (statistic from 31st March 2013).
Anna Sharkey, CEO of Adoption Focus said:
“We look forward to welcoming people to come for an informal chat and answering their questions about adoption. There’s no need to book a place, just turn up and a member of our friendly adoption team will be able to spend time with you.
“There is no perfect stereotype of an adopter and we look at each application individually, so don’t rule yourself out. Children simply need adopters who can offer a child or brothers and sisters a loving, caring and supportive family for life and help them recover from their past experiences to thrive in their new family.”
“It is important for us to spread the message about adoption and give people the confidence to find out more.
“Adoption is a big decision, but people can be confident that we will be there for them throughout. So please do come along to meet our friendly team.”
Adoption Focus is an adoption agency and charity which helps and supports people through the adoption process by providing an adoption service to people living in the Midlands, Staffordshire and Oxfordshire.
Adoption drop-in evenings will be held on the first Wednesday of every month at the Newcastle-under-Lyme offices between 5-8pm. The Staffordshire office covers the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent areas.
The drop-in event will take place on Wednesday the 4th of June between 5-8pm at:
