Knot FM will be handing out 500 brand new free books to the local community to celebrate World Book Night.
World Book Night is a celebration of reading and books and Knot FM will be giving out 500 books as a gift specially chosen and printed World Book Night books in the community to share their love of reading.
World Book Night reaches out to the millions of people in the UK who have yet to fall in love with reading in the hope that we can start them on their reading journey. Knot FM will be distributing the books out to members of the North Staffordshire YMCA as well as local hospices.
But it is also about more than that: it’s about people, communities and connections, about reaching out to others and touching lives in the simplest of ways, through the sharing of stories and Knot FM are proud to be a part of that process.
Books will be handed out on April 23, which is a symbolic date for world literature. It is both the birth and death day of Shakespeare, as well as the death day of Cervantes, the great Spanish novelist. It is in their honour that UNESCO appointed it the international day of the book and that date was chosen to celebrate World Book Night.
