Regent Theatre Review: Fame
Fame on at the Regent has been taken out of the 80s and brought into the present day. Many of the cast members have been recruited straight from drama school. Jodie Steel, aged 23, takes the lead role of Carmen Diaz.Based on the Oscar-winning musical film and popular TV series, the show follows a group of star-struck wannabes on their quest for fame.
Now in 2014, but still taking place at at the High School for Performing Arts New York, talented young hopefuls set out on the journey of their lives. They want to be stars. Some can’t take the pressure.
The dance routines are outstanding, dynamic and interesting. Fame and Let’s Play a Love Scene are the most popular songs and the finale has everyone, young and old dancing and bouncing away.
Worth a watch and the show runs until Saturday
