Two goals in added time secured a dramatic three points for Stoke City as they secured a crucial Boxing Day three points against Sheffield Wednesday.
James McClean had given the Potters into a deserved first half lead as the home side dominated throughout , but Morgan Fox and Tom Lees converted successive corners to put the Owls ahead.
With time running out, Tyrese Campbell found the back of net after Clucas’ knockdown, before Sam Vokes sent North Staffordshire wild and sent everyone home happy. As the added time began to run down, the Potters fought back. Clucas’ header found Campbell and he hooked the ball into the Wednesday net to send the bet365 Stadium into rapture and more was to come, Clucas caused the problems again with a fine delivery that found Vokes, but Dawson did well to turn his effort away. But he wasn’t to be denied for long. A goalmouth scramble ended with the Welsh forward tapping in the winner, and Stoke fans went wild. Special mention for McClean and Shawcross who worked so hard and were instrumental in the victory.
