Susan Hill’s ghost story returned to the Regent and what an atmosphere it created as the plot unfolded using illusion to add to the suspense and horror.
A grieving lawyer feels a curse has been cast upon him and his family by the woman in black. He finds a young actor and engages him to tell his story. What starts out in an innocent way changes..Reality and fantasy becomes entwined. From the start in the empty Victorian theatre, the imagination begins to take hold. The lighting and use of sounds help keep the audience on edge and you may leave the Regent wondering if you are going to leave the lights on as you sleep!
Well worth a visit and brilliantly acted by the two man cast
